When the doorbell falls off...
Well, they told us it would be about 2 weeks before the umbilical stump fell and today marked that wonderful occasion! Rishi Roy stopped by today and spent a few hours with Gracie along with another dear friend Emily Richards. Emily baked us some Pumkin Bread that is to die for and brought Gracie a precious frog lovie! Thanks you two!

Meeting Dr. Freeman
Today was Gracie's 2 week old check-up and very first visit to the doctor. It was crazy to be sitting in the same office I went to as a child and most of all visiting the same doctor! Dr. Freeman however is the greatest! He is so easy going and fun, if a doctor can be fun. =-)
Gracie is 8.4 and 20 inches long now! My goodness time flies by. Dr. Freeman said she will grow an ounce a day and about 1 pound every 2 weeks.
Anyway, here's a bio on her doctor and the website of the doctor's office:

Dr. Freeman joined the Children’s Medical Group in 1975. Dr. Freeman graduated from Millsaps College in 1968 and then received his medical degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1972. He then obtained his Pediatric training at the University of Mississippi Children’s Hospital in Jackson. Dr. Freeman is active in the local medical societies. He is married with children and enjoys farming in his spare time.

The Stork has Arrived
Things here are wonderful! I had a great check-up yesterday and I was able to get every other staple out. Tomorrow I hope to get the rest removed.
Gracie had lots of visitors today! The Ashcrafts, Ann Murphy, The Parry's, Carol Lukens, Marla Moore, and my neighbor. She's becoming a little superstar.
The highlight of the day was the bringing of the stork from Galloway. THANKS YOU ALL!

Meeting the Ingels Family
Yesterday was probably the most exciting day since she was born. I had the honor of introducing Gracie to her great grandmother Nanny (my father's mother) and great aunt and uncle (Tom and Ann Ingels). I cannot express the emotion in having her meet my father's family. Since my father is no longer living, I certainly felt his presence as Gracie was passed around the Ingels family. After Gracie's birth I had an emotional time dealing with the fact my father wasn't here to see her, but yesterday reminded me that he is and will always be right next to my heart and her heart. I miss you Dad!
Also, Charles took his very first middle of the night feeding!!! I am in awe of the precious bond he and Gracie have together. Charles is the greatest dad ever! He will never know how awesome he is in my book! I love you Charles!!!!

Adventures, Adventures, Adventures
Grace had quite a big day today!
First, we took her back to the hospital for her well baby check-up. She weighed 7lbs, 4 ounces and was given a clean bill of health. Her jaundice is still present and her levels were slightly elevated, but they assured us that there was nothing to worry about.
Next, we came back home and the fun began! She found her thumb today and spent most of the afternoon searching for it on and off.
The day ended with her meeting my cousins Brand and Carol Adkins who live in TN. It was a neat moment since Carol was around to hold me when I was born.
